Speaking of Star Trek, (re:Redshirts review) Google celebrates the show's 48th anniversary with a fun animated Google doodle. If you're a Star Trek fan then you probably won't be able to resist Scalzi's recent novel, Redshirts, which pays homage to the popular scifi show by telling the story of the sacrificial men in red. It's possible that there are other Star Trek references in the book as well but I wouldn't know since I've never actually watched the show. New SciFi & Fantasy Releases: Week of September 2- 8

It looks like there are lots of great books being released this week though the one that I'm particularly curious about is Riveted by Meljean Brook. I had loved The Iron Duke but couldn't get through the sequel. I'm now wondering if it's worth giving book three a try. If you've read it let me know what you thought.
