Giveaway: Vampires Suck T-shirts

I'm going to be having a couple of book giveaways over the next few days but first I have something a little different to offer up....

Two Vampires Suck T-shirts

A couple of weeks ago I was offered the opportunity to attend an early showing of the movie Vampire Suck, which I turned down. My younger sister did go, though, and she came back with these two t- shirts which I somehow seemed to have acquired. And since they aren't exactly the kind of thing I would wear I am putting them up for grabs.

If you are interested in receiving one of these lovely, size large (though they don't really look it) t-shirts, please leave your name and email address for me in the comment box below.

The giveaway is open to everyone.

Urban Fantasy Book Giveaway

Unfortunately I don't have any quotes to share with you this Friday, but I do have some books to give away. These are all urban fantasy books, some bought others won (The Blood Lines books I won from Tia at Reviews and Debuts) and have all been previously read.

These are the books:

1.Hell Fire by Anne Aguirre
2. Heart of Stone by C.E Murphy
3. A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton
4. Blood Lines Trilogy (Matters of the Blood, Blood Kin & Blood Bargain) by Maria Lima

I am going to do a separate drawing for each book, using Random.org, so there will be four winners, or the same person might be chosen more than once (if the fates so decree).
I do offer the opportunity to earn some bonus entries by helping spread the word about the giveaway, and all bonus points go towards each drawing that you choose to participate in.

To enter please fill out this form.

The contest is open internationally and will end on May 31st. You must be a follower to enter.

Book Giveaway: The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K Jemisin

If you would like the opportunity to provide a new home for my copy of The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, please leave me your email address below. And to make me feel better for going against the majority opinion, tell me about a book that you didn't like but everyone else loved.

You Can Be A Winner Too: Book Giveaways

To my astonishment, I was recently the winner of two different book blog giveaways.
Considering the fact that I haven't won anything since a pink teddy bear, when I was nine years old (and which I still have, see --------->)
I was quite excited and I've now begun entering every contest I can find.

And to help spread the joy, I decided to make a list each week of all the international giveaways that I come across, to help give you the chance to become a winner too (yes, I'm just that kind of person).

As I mentioned above, all the contests I list will be ones which are open world wide, so that anyone may enter them. Since I live in Israel I always get excited to find a good contest in which I can participate, particularly if it's for books.. Although I understand that most bloggers have financial limitations which prevent them from being able to ship books internationally, its still great when some does offer a contest open to everyone.

And finally, thank you to Bitten by Books and Debuts and Reviews for the awesome books I won at your blogs.

Book Chick City is giving away a copy of Bound to Shadows by Keri Arthur, which you can enter by leaving a comment and tweeting or blogging the contest. Contest ends Nov. 12th

Silk and Shadows is hosting Jocelynn Drake who is offering one lucky winner the complete collection of her books, including Unbound anthology, Nightwalker, Dayhunter, and Dawnbreaker. Contest ends Nov. 12th.

The Neverending Shelf is giving one lucky winner a copy of Christine and Ethan Rose's Rowan of the Woods and Witch on the Water. I've never read these books but I've heard good things about them and they look really cute. To enter, leave a comment and receive extra points for following the blog and promoting the contest. Contest ends Nov. 13th

All Things Urban Fantasy has a $20 Amazon gift certificate to give away. To enter, leave a vampire related question for author Kelly Meding. Contest ends Nov. 13th

Lisa and Laura are giving away a Kindle which you can enter to win by becoming a follower. Extra entries are given for blogging and commenting. Contest ends Nov. 13th

I should be Writing is giving away three books to three different winners (though more books may be added along with the amount of winners). The books currently include Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and Maze Runner by James Dashner.
To enter you need to become a follower and leave a comment. Extra entries are given if you follow the blog on twitter and promote the contest through your blog.

Help me Interview Jasper Fforde and win a Fforde Book

One of the great things about having a book blog is that it gives me an excuse to get in touch with authors whose books I enjoy. So after recently completing another wonderfully fun and quirky Thursday Next novel, I contacted the author, Jasper Fforde, for an interview.

Mr. Fforde responded (yes, I'm interacting with the man himself!) that he would be happy to answer some questions for me, if they are not ones that he has already answered. The email included a link to a list of 500 + questions and answers, from Jasper Fforde's website.

I visited the link provided and began perusing the questions. Ten minutes later I was feeling rather disheartened. It appears that any question I could think of asking Jasper Fforde, has already been asked. From how he chose the literary characters to include in his books to information about his affinity for Volkswagens (OK, I didn't know about that one).

I was very discouraged at my inability to come up with something new and creative to ask and was tempted to just throw in the gauntlet and give up on this interview. But then I thought that maybe some of you out there could help me out, perhaps some of you can help me save the interview! (cue swelling of music)

So here is what I am going to do. I am going to ask you to come up with some good interview questions that I can ask Fforde and which are not already answered at his web site. I need questions that are unique and intelligent; unmatched in their individuality and ingeniously inventive. Though questions do need to be related to the author or his books (so although he probably has not been asked if he prefers Eric or Bill, I'm not going to ask him that either).

The winner of the contest will receive one Jasper Fforde book of their choice. The contest is open internationally and will run until November 17th.

To enter, you must first be a follower of this blog and then you just send me your question in the comment box below. You will receive one entry for each question, though each question should be sent in a separate comment box. Also make sure to include your email address with at least one of your comments so that I wont' have any trouble contacting the winner.

For more information about Jasper Fforde and his books, visit his website.

You can also read the reviews I wrote about The Eyre Affair and Lost in a Good Book, the first two books in his Thursday Next series.

Win Free Books at these Book Blog Giveaways

I had a bit of free time this morning so I spent it browsing through the various blogs I have recently begun following and I discovered that there are tons of great contests and books giveaways currently going on. Since I'm pretty new to the blogging world I don't know if there are always this many contests or if its just in honor of Halloween, but here are a few of my favorites:

The Book Rat is giving away one book, from her collection of books reviewed, which can be chosen by the winner. There are a number of ways to enter, including becoming a follower, commenting on the blog and helping promote the contest through Twitter. The contest runs until Nov. 30th and is open internationally.

Blood Bookaholic is giving away two books, Rowan of the Woods and Witch in the Water, by Christine Rose and Ethan Rose. The winner also receives a stake (Yup, you read right. The pointy kind, meant to be thrust into the chest of the undead, not the kind you throw on the grill). The contest is open worldwide and ends October 31st.

The Lateiner Gang is giving away a whole bunch of great books including The Maze Runner, which is a book I personally really want to read. They are also giving away a $200 gift card to tht Apple Store (now THAT is a cool prize!). This contest is only open to those with a US address and it runs until Nov. 28th.

Fresh Fiction has a whole lot of really great book giveaways going on, offered directly by the authors, and it looks like they are all open to international residents. To enter, all you have to do if fill out your name, email and zipcode.

There are plenty more contests going on, many of which you can find listed at www.princessbookies.com.

Good Luck!

The final contest winners

This is a bit belated, but congratulations to the two final contest winners of the Book-A-Day Giveaway.

Li-Or, from Hadera, will be receiving Brandon Sanderson's new book Warbreaker (I'm actually reading this now [my own copy] and it is AWESOME!)

Itai, from Ashdod, has been sent a copy of The Apex Book of World SF, compiled by Lavie Tidhar.

I hope all of the contest winners enjoy their new books and I'd love to hear what you thought of them, after you finish.

I had a great time giving away with this contest; giving away books was really a lot of fun. I'll definitely try to do it again sometime soon.

Our Third Contest Winner

Congratulations to our third contest winner, Ramona, from Ashdod.

Ramona will receive an autographed copy of the Tel Aviv Dossier, a novel by Israeli authors Nir Yaniv and Lavie Tidhar.

If you can manage it, Ramona, I suggest you read the part with the detailed apocoliptical destruction of the Tel Aviv Bus Station, while actually in the Tel Aviv Bus Station. I found it adds a little extra spice to the reading experience.

Enjoy your book!
