Tor.com has an interesting post about the woman who models for Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson books as well as a brief interview with the cover artist, Dan Dos Santos.

Santos's cover style is what has inspired many of the current urban fantasy covers today, and he talks about the challenges in creating unique covers and how he came up with the ideas for Brigg's Books.
