For Esther Friesner fans

I received this press release from Esther Friesner regarding her Princess of Myth series, and while I haven't yet had a chance to read these books myself (though I do intend to do so soon) I thought it would be of interest to those who have read the books.

Princesses of Myth Series Website Launches

Random House today announced the launch of a new website www.princessesofmyth.com. Esther Friesner's Princesses of Myth series has chronicled Helen of Troy and Nefertiti as young adults.
Described as the "website where girls make history," readers will be able to blog about their reading, participate in contests and follow the development of the series.  Teachers will find classroom resources.

Sphinx's Princess, the second book in the Nefertiti series, was recently recommended by Africa Access as a book that enriches "our perspectives of Africa beyond the stereotypical , ahistorical and exotic images that are emphasized in the West. "

Nebula Award winner Esther Friesner is the author of 34 novels and over 200 short stories, including the story "Thunderbolt" in Random House's Young Warriors anthology, which lead to the creation of Nobody's Princess. She is also the editor of seven popular anthologies.

If you have read these books I'd be interested in hearing what you thought about them.

Oh I'm curious too! thanks for the link!

Oooh, Helen of Troy and Nefertiti as young adults - that has tons of possibility. Esp. Helen; I would love to see her as something other than an object of beauty.
